When you're looking for a photo booth for your event, it's hard to know what you're looking for when there's so many different options. You definitely want to make sure you get the biggest bang for your buck. In this article I'll briefly go over the most popular and trending right now: iPad and DSLR. With a photo booth of our own, you're gonna wanna hear what we have to say.
DSLR photo booth vs iPad photo booth
iPad Photobooth
They're definitely the cheaper option
The quality of the camera is going to be as good as whatever version of iPad they have (the older, the more blurry it'll get), but even then; new iPads are not made to take professional pictures
They don't require an attendant most of the time
Usually are used for digital sharing only (no physical prints)
For lighting it's usually just equipped with a ring light, so if your venue's lighting is dark it might be a challenge to get good pictures
DSLR Photobooth
They're a bit more expensive
They have a professional camera mounted taking pictures, so the quality is top of the line
Does require an attendant if there's printing (to replace ink and paper)
They come with professional flash/strobe light so they won't be affected by the surrounding lighting (dark venues)
You're also able to get digital sharing prints
Whether you're having a wedding, graduation party or a corporate event, you want to make sure that the money you invest into your photo booth is worth it. When having conversations with photo booth companies always ask what kind of camera they are using and if they have proper lighting. So hopefully if you were on the fence of how to choose between DSLR photo booth vs iPad photo booth now you have a little bit more of a clear answer.
